[THEQOO HOT] [Exclusive] Blackpink's Jennie Purchases 20 Billion Won Building in Yongsan
11 February 2026
It has been confirmed that Blackpink's Jennie purchased a building near Hannam New Town for 20 billion won.
According to investment banking (IB) and real estate industry sources on the 11th, Jennie purchased the building in Dongbinggo-dong, Yongsan-gu, Seoul for 20 billion won in May of last year and completed the transfer of ownership in December of the same year. Considering that no separate mortgage is established in the real estate register, it is presumed that the entire purchase was made in cash.
The building, completed in 1970, is located in the northern part of Dongbinggo-dong, where many ambassadorial residences are concentrated, and is currently used as the Iraqi Embassy to Korea. It has a land area of 595㎡, a total floor area of 551.08㎡, and consists of one basement level and two above-ground levels, with a price per pyeong of approximately 111 million won.
The area around Dongbinggo, which Jennie has her eye on, is expected to undergo full-scale development due to the redevelopment of the nearby Hannam New Town and the creation of Yongsan Park. The redevelopment of Hannam District 5 to the south is already underway, and the US military transport base is also considered one of the three major US military bases to be returned, along with the UN base, which is being developed into a luxury residential complex, and the Camp Kim base, which is also planned for development.
Meanwhile, Jennie, who is actively working across groups and solo, is evaluated to be showing her "young and rich" side with her bold real estate investments. Last year, she rented an entire new building in Hannam-dong to establish a new nest for her one-person agency, "OdAtelier (OA)," and it was reported that the monthly rent alone was over 60 million won. In 2023, she also purchased a luxury villa located in the UN Village for 5 billion won in cash.

6. If you're going to make a lot of money and spend it, spend it like this. Celebrities who take out loans of 70, 80, or 90 percent and buy buildings worth billions of won, get out.

19. What kind of life would it be to pay 60 million won a month in rent? I envy Young & Rich.
20. Even if you only have 1 billion won in cash and financial assets (no house), 1% of South Korea (460,000 people) = rich <1% owns 60% of total assets.
29,000 people with high net worth (0.06%) with 10 billion won or more
10,000 ultra-high net worth individuals (0.02%) with 30 billion won or more
Jennie must be an ultra-high net worth individual... Wow, how much cash does she have?
